About Derek
Derek’s primary expertise is in feasibility studies, technical reviews, business turnaround and transformation, and the management of large complex programs and projects. He is an accomplished underground and open-pit mine operations and mine technical specialist with 30 years of experience in the mining industry spanning the Americas, Australia, and Africa, and has proven success in leading business transformation and innovation programs.

Advisory Lead - Business Transformation / Operational Excellence
About Corné
Corné Yzelle is a seasoned professional with 15 years of diverse experience spanning data analytics, solution design, and digital transformation within the mining industry. With a background in chemical engineering and analytics, she has honed her expertise shaping and leading large transformation programs that improve business performance. Her journey led her through roles as a Process Engineer and Senior Solutions Architect before assuming leadership positions such as Digital Transformation Program Manager at Vedanta Zinc International and Associate Director at Deloitte Consulting South Africa. Now, as Advisory Lead at AMC, Corné is spearheading the business transformation and operational excellence service offering, leveraging her strategic acumen to drive sustainable change and enhance organizational performance in the mining sector.
Johann van Wijk
Lead - Corporate Consultancy
About Johann
Johann is a Mining Engineer specializing in mining rock mechanics. He has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry, including a balance of operational and consulting experience. Johann has worked in operations, developing, and implementing geotechnical risk management strategies and providing advice to senior leadership on rock engineering matters. Although much of his experience is in underground coal mining, he has experience in surface mining (coal and other commodities) and underground hard rock mining. Johann has been working in consulting for the past eleven years and has been involved in a wide variety of assignments, including technical analyses, due diligence, and catastrophic hazard management audits.
