Benjamin has more than 25+ years of both open pit and underground experience, as well as rock mechanics, process engineering, risk management and mine finance. He has proven pragmatic technical skills in open pit and underground mining and dams engineering in both operational and consulting capacities, in copper, PGM’s, gold zinc, lead, tin, iron and coal throughout the America’s and Australia. Benjamin has held senior technical, operational and leadership positions with multiple companies including Superintendent, Technical Services for Newcrest, Director of Engineering with Nevada Copper, Chief Engineer with Dateline Resources, Stillwater Mining Company and Teck Washington, Inc. He led Teck Coal through two large pit wall failures, as well as significant mineral leaching problems. He also developed a comprehensive dams engineering 5-year surveillance review.
